WHAT WE DO

Our Mission
To assist members of the Special Operations community in fostering the well-being of its members, families, and survivors.
Our Goals
  • Support the Special Operations Association scholarship program
  • Assist family members and survivors of the Special Operations community through the Auxiliary Committee
  • Foster the well-being of the Special Operations community by supporting educational and outreach opportunities
  • Address critical needs of Special Operations soldiers or families as identified by the Special Operations Association
  • Gather information on the exposure of Special Operations troops to Agent Orange, for the purpose of determining the extent of exposure and the possible genetic damage to our children and grandchildren. More About the Agent Orange Legacy Project

Education

The Special Operations Association Foundation, a 501c3 tax-exempt charity, solicits funds to provide educational grants to the Special Operations Association (SOA) George C. Morton Memorial Scholarship Program when requested by the SOA Board of Directors and authorized by the SOAF Board of Trustees.

Well-Being

We provides grant funds to members of the Special Operations community in the event of natural disaster, severe illness, or other unforeseen calamity. The Foundation also addresses the well-being of the members through providing educational seminars at the Special Operations Association Reunion to promote the health and wellness for its attendees.

Survivor Assistance

We provide assistance to families to attend the funeral of a Special Operations soldier or visit a wounded Special Operations soldier in the hospital. Through the activities of the Foundation’s Auxiliary Committee, widows and survivors of Special Operations troops are given emotional support and contact information for government agencies.

    Our Latest Causes
    Some accomplishments for your Special Operations Association Foundation this year.
    Provided a grant for the widow of a chronically ill and disadvantaged SOA member to cover some of his final expenses.
    The SOAF Auxiliary (SOAFAC) has begun a fund to assist the widows of SOA members who are in need. Too often members pass away without sufficient planning for their widows. The SOAFAC will make one-time grants to widows who need assistance.
    Contributed $26,000 to the George C. Morton Scholarship Fund for the progeny of SOA members, with more funding planned.
    Provided a $5,000 disbursement to help with medical expenses for a chronically ill member who was a “King Bee” pilot for SOA/CCC. Many Special Operations Association members would not have survived without our respected King Bees.
    Provided funding for airfare and lodging for the daughter of a deceased SOG legend to attend her father’s funeral.
